Changelog is a weekly series of posts dedicated to highlighting notable Android app updates. Whether it be utilities, games, or anything in between, we shed some light on some of our favorites.

WordPress (v2.3) Brand new design which employs the Holo style guidelines and a persistent action bar at the top. Gone are the old options and buttons which have been replaced with a left-side menu drawer that remembers where you last left off. Additional details include View Site, Admin area access, improved post editing and better image uploading. FREE
Yahoo Mail (v2.5) Features include a new layout designed with tablet users in mind which allows for easier inbox management, a new ‘reading mode’, and a starred folder (important emails). Also, users can now switch accounts via the sidebar menu. FREE
mysms (v4.0) Update includes a refreshed design that offers a number of themes and emoji integration. The new widget looks and feels very much like what you would expect in an Android 4.0+ experience. Pop-ups now have more options and a new design and you can also set individual background wallpapers. FREE
ToyDefense (v1.6.1) Recent changes include a new Tournament Mode which sees new maps added every week as well as Facebook integration. Play against friends on multiple platforms, and keep an eye out for future social network tie-ins. FREE
Box (varies) Main updated feature centers around around easier viewing and sharing of your content. Users can also sample rich media files on the go with audio and video previews. Rounding things out, a number of new languages have been folded into the app. FREE
Arcane Legends (v18.104.22.168) New, themed expansion pack “The Battle for Nordr” adds an entirely new level of fun. Level caps have been increased from 26 to 31 and there are all new weapon, quests, loot, and pets to gather along the way. Also, players can now take each other in a PvP mode. FREE
Vonage (v2.1) Major update sees the integration of video calling to and from other VOnage users for free whether on 3G, 4G, or Wi-Fi connections. Call quality will depend on connection; users can toggle front and back camera and can switch to and from audio and video calls. FREE
