Party your apps off with Lookout on eve of Google I/O 2013 (WIN A FREE TICKET!)

Lookout’s annual kickoff party for Google I/O is barely two weeks away and we’re getting super stoked.

Headed to San Francisco later this month to get in your annual dose of Google I/O?  Awesome! Why not get things started a little early with the Lookout team at their third annual Party Your Apps Off event?  As in year’s past there will be food, unlimited drinks, awesome people, and giveaways!  The party goes down on May 14 and will be one of the pre-Google I/O hotspots you should be attending.

To help provide a little bit of incentive to show up, we’ve got 10 tickets to get you in the door.  Why pay for a ticket when we can get you on the list?  The best part is that each of these ten tickets includes a “plus one”, so that’s 20 spots.

  • When: Tuesday, May 14 at 7:30 pm
  • Where: Terra Gallery, 511 Harrison Street, San Francisco, CA
  • What: Lookout’s annual Google I/O kickoff party. Drinks will start flowing at 7:30 pm at Terra Gallery in San Francisco and we’ll have tasty food and awesome entertainment. Free giveaways for the first 200 who show up at the door (arrive early: we had a line around the block last year!). *Please not that this event is 21 and over.

Shmooze Us and win!

How do you enter to win a ticket? That’s easy!  You just need to inflate our egos a bit.  Tell us how much you love Lookout and AndroidGuys in the comments below and we’ll choose from there. We’ll draw the winners on Friday, May 3 and notify Lookout as to who gets in from the AndroidGuys list.

Winners: Alex Ashak, wyldtek, Martin Horsfield, Jennie Tran, Joshua Barta, Jorge Deolarte, Stephen Nelson, victorjake, Scott Castillo, gary carmona

Skipping out on the festivities this year. Not in love with Google at the moment… No mobile ads on Google Glass… dev payout schedule changes for the worse, making more money with MM and Airpush than AdMob…. frankly, I don’t see a reason to go. Anything worth noting from I/O will be written about here. Hope Google starts to care about its developers again. After all, I think we all did a lot to help level the playing field between iOS and Android during the last couple of years.

Lookout mobile security was the first mobile security application that I ever used. It is quite amazing that you can track the location of your phone, set off a wailing alarm, or lock your phone remotely if your device is ever stolen. It is also quite nice that all of the basic features come at the price of free. And it keeps your phone from getting infected with nasty viruses. Awesome! I, for one, am obsessed with my android news, and I religiously come to the Android Guys to get my phone nerd fix! I get my daily rumors and Android news from!

Okay, so technically I can’t say anything nice about Lookout because I’m not using it . . . but I’ll install it now just so I can say nice things at the party. And, AndroidGuys, well, they’re easily in the top 10. Top 10 of what you ask? I don’t know but I’m pretty sure they’re THAT good.

I’ve been following Lookout and AndroidGuys since day one. An app to fill a huge gap in Android, and a news site dedicated to the Android cause since the first SDK came out. Keep doing what you are doing guys and I’ll see you all at I/O with my glass on!

Lookout is like having your own personal bodyguard for your phone, complete with suit, dark glasses, and menacing glare (but is actually, you know, a pretty nice guy).

AndroidGuys are like the wacky and awesome friends that that always know the latest fun stuff to do and see.

    I’m thinking there’s a sitcom in our future…
