HTC “One Phone One Weekend” special will give you as much as $375 for your old device

Have you been thinking about getting the new HTC One but are slow to jump on the bandwagon? Now may be the time, as HTC has announced they are running a trade-in promotion this weekend that offers consumers anywhere between $100 to $375 for their old smartphone when they purchase a One.

The company says that this trade-in offer applies to eligible smartphones only, and anyone interested can visit HTC’s trade-in website ahead of time to get a quote for their specific device. Some examples of the payouts include: $300-$375 for an iPhone 5, $130-$210 for a Samsung Galaxy S III, and even $100 for a BlackBerry Curve or Bold (mailed to consumers via a pre-paid Visa card.)

HTC’s “One Phone, One Weekend” offer is only available from May 2nd through May 5th and is applicable to any HTC One purchased through a U.S. carrier – AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile – or national retail store. If transferring info from your old device to the One has you worried, HTC has also created tools to help make the process a breeze.

HTC Expects to be First to 4G, Again

After delivering the first 4G phone ever, the Sprint EVO 4G, HTC went on to provide T-Mobile’s first 4G device, the G2. What’s next for the handset maker? Well, why not drop the first Verizon 4G handset, too? Such is the case, or at least that’s what it appears to be. A mini-site/landing page has been spotted online showing an HTC phone obscured by a black cloth.

You can’t find out the trade in amount until you have already purchased a new HTC One phone.

If the estimate is $100 for my One X, I don’t even want to find out the final amount.
