Android 4.1+  Jelly Bean has moved ahead of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in terms of popularity among versions of the platform. That said, both still trail the Gingerbread build as the two year old Android release still clings to the lead.

Overall figures for the last 14 days show that Android 4.1 and 4.2 combine for a total share of 28.4 percent of the pie. Android 4.0 comes in a close second with 27.4 percent. As for Android 2.3 Gingerbread, it still commands 38.5 percent of all Android devices accessing the Google Play Store over the last two weeks.

Why are these numbers important and who really cares?
