Facebook in “advanced talks” to acquire Waze – Reuters

Facebook is reportedly in advance stages of negotiations in an attempt to acquire social-based navigation service Waze. Details are light but it’s said that the deal could fall between $800M and $1B (with a ‘B’) dollars. The buyout talks are alleged to have started in January however the two also got quite cozy in October 2012 when Waze introduced a Facebook client.

Waze has been on quite a tear as of late, having grown its user base to 45 million with more than 1.5M downloading the app in March.

    Waze use to be good. Now my phone keeps freezing up when Im using the gps because of all the waze advertising pop ups that occur. Now its totally useless.
