Moto X to offer color choices and engravings, report indicates

By now you’ve no doubt heard plenty of details about the upcoming Moto X smartphone project. Expected to launch in the coming weeks, the handset will provide users with the ability to customize the design of the phone.

What sort of customization? According to ABC News, we’ll be able to choose from a variety of colors, wallpapers, and engraving options.

Through a website, buyers will be able to select from a palette of different colors. One color can be used for the back case and another can be selected for the trim of the phone. Users will also be able to engrave a name or message on the back cover as well as upload a personal photo through the site to be used as the wallpaper on the phone’s screen, according to people familiar with the rollout.

To make things even sweeter, Motorola is expected to be able to deliver these tailor-made devices within a matter of days. Thanks to a U.S.-based manufacturing plant, Motorola will build and ship the custom phones direct to consumer without any international delays.

Should you not want one of these uniquely designed handsets you can pick up a standard model through a wireless carrier.
