NVIDIA releases SHIELD open source materials and recovery image

Devs, start your engines. NVIDIA has officially released both the open source materials and data, as well as the recovery image, for SHIELD. According to NVIDIA, this gaming system should have developers licking their chops, touting dev-friendly features such as:

  • World-class Tegra 4 development platform
  • Console-quality development tools
  • 100% stock Android OS
  • The ultimate Android gaming experience
  • Stream games from GeForce GTX-powered PC

You can pick up the “SHIELD Open Source and Binary Driver Release” for both the preinstalled factory OS image and the latest OTA update at the source link below, as well as the binary recovery image, in case users need to reset their SHIELD back to stock.
