Samsung launching a smartwatch known as Galaxy Gear?

Recently, we heard that Samsung is working on a smartwatch, and now it seems that we will see it soon at Samsung’s Unpacked event on September 4 in Berlin. SAMMobile is reporting that Samsung’s upcoming watch will be known as the Galaxy Gear and it might feature following specs:

  • CPU: Samsung Exynos 4212 dual core 1.5GHz
  • GPU: ARM Mali-400 MP4
  • RAM: 1GB
  • Display: 320×320 (3cm×3cm – 1.67-inches) AMOLED (not sure if it’s flexible)
  • Camera: 2 Megapixel
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth, NFC

This is what we know about the smartwatch right now, and it is just yet another big fat rumor so take it with a grain of salt. Actually, it’s a little hard to believe, a smartwatch with a 1GB RAM and a dual-core processor? Is Samsung planning to fly planes with it? I don’t think so. However, if it is real then we might see it in Berlin next month along with the Note III.

    Samsung after becoming stable in smartphones amd LED’s now planning to start smartphone watches. I am big fan of samsung . Samsung galxacy Gear will definatly attract customers in market…..

    I cannot see myself buying a watch which I will have to charge on a daily basis… smart or not, it’s simply another gizmo which I have to remember to charge, no thanks….
