Amazon ‘Firetube’ may take on Roku, Apple TV
Chances are good that you’ve heard the speculation of an Amazon phone (or two) and the occasional rumor that they company is prepping a set-top box. Recent trademarks filed by Amazon in the US and Canada for an Amazon Firetube adds fuel to the…well, fire. Word on the street is that Amazon is working on something to get into that space before the holiday season. The name makes sense: Kindle Fire and the “tube” being a reference to the TV.
