Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update now rolling out

Back in July, we came to know that Samsung is planning to skip Android 4.2.2 and in return, they will release Android 4.3. And as they promised, Samsung is now rolling out Android 4.3 update for the Samsung Galaxy S3. Recently, Samsung Galaxy S4 made its debut, but with this new update for the Galaxy S3, Samsung is trying to show that they are not putting their old smartphones behind the shadows.

S4-Android-4.3-SM-EDITFirst spotted by SamMobile, the first Galaxy S3 to receive the Android 4.3 is Vodafone-branded version in Ireland. More countries and carriers will receive the update sooner or later. The update will bring following new changes:

  • GALAXY GEAR Support
  • TRIM Support (Makes the device much faster)
  • ANT+ Support
  • Core UI elements updated to the ones on the Galaxy S4 (Galaxy S4′s theme all over)
  • New Samsung Keyboard
  • GPU drivers have been updated (Higher GPU benchmark scores)
  • New Lockscreen: Multiple Widgets, improved ripple effect than Android 4.1.2, ability to change clock size and set a personal message
  • New Screen modes (From S4): Adapt Display and Professional Photo
  • Daydream
  • Driving mode
  • Actionable notifications
  • Move-to-SD-card feature
  • New Camera mode : Sound and Shot
  • New Additions in Notification Centre
  • Completely revamped Settings UI (Tabbed interface – Exactly like the Galaxy S4)
  • Implementation of Voice controls (Let’s you control various parts of the phone using voice commands – Galaxy S4 feature)
  • New Samsung Apps: Calculator, Clock, Contacts, Gallery, Music
  • Full screen Samsung apps
  • New S-Voice (from Galaxy S4)

    My device updated late Saturday night. Since then it has frozen & rebooted, and mystery rebooted almost a dozen times. Looking into uninstalling it…

      Prob ur device is shocked to get such a big update, why dont u try backup follwed by reformat and reinstall

    I hate the new update. It is such a pain in the ass to send a text message now. Does anyone know of a way around this??
