HTC One M8 teardown is just as hard to repair as the old one

The team over at iFixit have conducted their routine teardown of the new HTC One M8 and they’ve found that it’s just as hard to repair as the original.

The verdict is that whilst iFixit where happy to see normal screws holding the main body together, the rest of the device was a nightmare to dissect. With a glue-fixed motherboard and a load of tape and copper shielding, the HTC One M8 proved a difficult contender.

During the teardown iFixit did cut through the digitizer cable giving testiment to the overall score they provided the HTC One M8 of just two out of ten for repairability. It’s a slight improvement over the old HTC One score, but still you’ll want to keep your HTC One M8 safe all the same.
