How to take a screenshot [Android 101]

Taking a screenshot requires a different process on many Android devices. There are, however, a few basic ways to do so. Here is how to capture a screenshot!

KEEP IN MIND: Not all Android phones are the same. Some will have more steps required to complete each task, others will have less. At AndroidGuys, we will do our best to walk you through each task as well as we can.

Most Android devices

Other than a few exceptions, most devices require the same action to take a screenshot. Simply hold the power button and the volume down key at the same time, and it will take a screenshot. If done correctly, you should either hear a confirmation sound or see a notification.

And that’s it! The screenshot will be in your gallery for later use.

Other phones

Some devices require a different action to capture a screenshot. On devices with a physical “home” button, you will need to press and hold the power button and the home button at the same time. If this doesn’t work, it’s most likely the process explained above. Easy enough, right?
