20 Android apps for dads and grads

Helping to plan that well earned gap year after graduation from university. Tripit is a travel planning app that uses all your travel confirmation emails like flight, hotel and car rental info and puts it all into one place that organizes it into a really useful itinerary right on your phone or tablet. It will sync with your calendars to create reminders, provide directions for your destinations, and update you with real-time flight info.

The ability to use Tripit to share your journeys with friends via social media is also a neat idea, and if you’re lucky enough to have Google Glass with you on your travels, then Tripit is also available as a Glass app.

Monster Truck Destruction

Play as Bigfoot… ‘nough said!

Back when I was a kid, Monster trucks rallies were as exciting as getting a new device is to me today.  Relive your childhood days with this great Monster Truck game.  Drag race against an opponent or freestyle and race the track yourself.  You can even play in the championship mode.

Apply upgrades to your vehicle to make it the biggest baddest truck on the block.   With over 30 trucks to choose from you are sure to find a truck you want to use to jump ramps and destroy cars with.

Thanks to the recent switch over to OpenStreetMap, the app is more current than ever before; updated once a minute! Highly detailed and open-source, the navigation’s backbone is essentially a Wikipedia for mapping. And, now that there’s more than 1.6 million potential editors, there’s nothing that comes close in terms of potential.

Other details found in Scout that we’re fond of include a clean and consistent UI, On My Way, Nearby Places, and 3D buildings. What better way to get around that new campus and college town?
