Icon packs that you must have on your Android device...Round Three

GolD&Dust by Dori Smith

Gold Dust Icon Banner

GoldD&Dust is of course very similar to Dori Smith’s first icon set, ChromeD&Dust, except the transparency has a gold tint to it. The transparency thing isn’t something you see much of it right now within icon packs, so this is good to see her making at least a couple of sets along the same lines.

The icons are transparent as you see, but with superb details in the actual app icons. Again, something you haven’t seen a lot of yet is the use of transparency, and I’m one who has a thing for transparency of any kind. Then add in the double gold rings around the edges, and GolD&Dust is an instant winner in my book. Expect to see more of this style from her very soon.

GolD&Dust can be yours for just $1.55 and it will net you 600+ custom made icons as well as the icon masking feature so all icons match. Plus you will have access to 25 HD wallpapers that are now included in the app as well as a full theme dashboard.

Balx by Andrea Corvi(DKSkarpia)

Balx Icon Banner

Andrea Corvi is someone whose work I follow pretty closely. Maybe because he makes a lot of round icons, and I’m guessing he knows that’ll get me to give him my money. Balx is no different in the sense that Andrea has created yet another round icon set. But Balx has a button’ish type feel to it as the icons have a bit of depth to them, a button like look almost.

For just $1.89 you will get 1,750+ custom made icons, full dashboard support and 40+ wallpapers as well. Plus you get full support for the Muzei Wallpaper app as well as the Behang Wallpaper app. Throw in a full theme dashboard and very regular updates, and this is a set you definitely need to have.

What clock & weather widget is shown on the Aloha and Asteroid phone screenshots? Thanks!

  • Tracy

You should check out Flui icons, if you haven’t already https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=drase.flui.iconpack

Sylvia Beaver It’s called Rtr Clock which you can find here:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.twaintyfour.rtr

However, mine has been modified so it doesn’t look exactly like the one in the Play Store as you will see it.

Tracy: I’ve heard of them here the last couple of days now. I will probably be checking them out, for sure.

How can we get the modified one?

      • http://TechDissected.com/ Cliff Wade

@richardtrzcinski:disqus Unfortunately there’s no way you can. Since it’s not my original work, I can’t share the files. I certainly wish I could, but I can’t do that to the original developer.

Cliff, thank you for your informative reply to my daughter. Both of our phones now sport the Rtr Clock and Nova Launcher. Best wishes to your dev friend on releasing his clock mod to the masses!

@adam_beaver:disqus No problem at all! Glad you got it working. That’s what it’s all about is helping others :)

  • David Kurisu

What launcher are you running to allow those 4 icons grouped on your dock?

    • Larry

+David Kurisu try Nova Launcher, it will allow you to ad icon folders like that and much much more!

    • http://TechDissected.com/ Cliff Wade

@davidkurisu:disqus I’m using Nova Launcher Prime, but majority of the big name launchers allow it, like Apex Pro and others.
