LG ships record-high 14.5 million smartphones in Q2

Things are looking good for LG this week as the company announces is second quarter results. With a record high 14.5 million smartphones shipped in the three-month window LG is up 20 percent year-over-year. Sales are up 16 percent as compared to the same quarter from last year; this is the highest increase since Q1 2010. Thanks to devices such as the G3 and L Series, LG has been able to stem three straight quarters of losses.

Looking ahead it would seem LG will maintain momentum as the global rollout of the G3 gets underway and variations such as the G3 Beat get going. Toss in some more L Series models and we could be looking at a great third quarter as well.
