Android Market Unofficially Hits 200,000 Applications
The Android Market continues to swell at an enormous rate, adding new apps and games faster than most expected. Officially, Google puts the number of available titles at 100,000 but we know it’s higher. How high exactly? Androlib.com has pegged the figure at 200,000 apps.

HTC Teases With Package of Seemingly Related Android Stuff
I am not sure what to make of the following items. Last week, I received a package on Wednesday that looked and felt an awful lot like it would contain a review unit cell phone. The name on the box indicated it was from HTC’s PR firm, Waggener Edstrom. Excited that it might be a new HTC phone (EVO Shift 4G, Thunderbolt), I tore into the box. Instead of an Android smart phone awaiting me inside, I found pieces to what felt like a viral puzzle game.

LG Ally to See Froyo in February 2011
According to LG’s official forum, Verizon’s LG Ally handsets will see Android 2.2 in February 2011. After making its debut with Android 2.1 all the way back in May 2010, the handset maker later promised Android 2.2 would eventually come.
