Is Andy Breaking Down?
Before I begin, I’d like to stress that this is an opinion piece, and doesn’t necessarily reflect the views of AndroidGuys. I’m just a grumpy 17-year-old voicing my thoughts. Now then, according to a recent study by WDS (isn’t it funny that it’s always a …

Dual-Screen Android Device Surfaces, Challenges Echo
Remember the Kyocera Echo? Unfortunately, so do we. From the beginning, the concept of a dual-screen device seemed like a good idea, but only if the right company manufactured it.. Obviously, Kyocera was not the right company. But now the guys over at Engadget have gotten their hands on a prototype of a new dual-screen Android device.

HTC Evo 3D Bloatware Can be Removed Without Root
This is either a step in the right direction or a fluke. It seems that the HTC Evo 3D has something that past Sprint devices lack: the ability to simply uninstall bloatware programs that come with the device. You don’t even need to root the darn thing. It’s as simple as going into Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, select the app that you want to get rid of, and Uninstall. Yeah, it’s really that simple.

Galaxy Tab 10.1 Gets First Custom ROM
It’s kind of become a rite of passage for new Android devices to get their own custom ROMs. Every major Android tablet and phone has gone through it, and it looks as though the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is joining the club. This comes just 9 days after the Moto Xoom got its own custom ROM.

U.S. Cellular Launches Moto Xoom
That’s right, the Xoom is no longer a Verizon exclusive. U.S. Cellular began selling the Android 3.1 tablet today, and it’s sure to bring business up a notch. After a quick first glance, it appears to be exactly the same as the Verizon Xoom. I did make one note, however: the U.S. Cellular version doesn’t directly connect to the network.

T-Mobile Responds to AT&T Merge Opposition
Well, it’s about time, isn’t it? After all the opposition to the proposed AT&T/T-Mobile merge, Magenta has finally released an official statement. You can read the full statement below, but it basically repeats most of what we heard at the Senate hearing over a month ago. T-Mobile essentially supports the deal, stating that both companies are in a “spectrum crunch”, and the merge would solve this issue, while providing vast amounts of coverage to Americans. No word on how the FCC will respond to this statement, but rest assured, they’re taking a good hard look at the deal itself.

HTC ChaCha Passes FCC, Launching June 17?
I for one am not a fan of the “Facebook Phone” concept, but it looks like HTC is set on it, as their ChaCha device just passed through the FCC. The AT&T version looks slightly different from the European version, but that’s expected.

MyTouch 4G Slide Surfaces in Clearer Photos
Ahh, the MyTouch 4G Slide. We first heard about it via that leaked T-Mo roadmap, with last month, with the codename “Doubleshot”. As we learned more, we got a blurry look at the actual device just a few weeks ago. Well, the MT4GS has posed for another photo op, and this time we actually get a good look at what’s shaping up to be a nice little device.

Sony Ericsson Duo Leaked, Dual-Core CPU?
We’ve been hearing a bit more than normal about our friends from Sony Ericsson. First there was the announcement that they’ll be incorporating NFC chips into future devices, and now this. We’ve gotten our hands on a photo of what’s being dubbed as the Xperia Duo. We don’t have any real specs at the moment, other than the fact that it’ll be packing a dual-core processor and what appears to be a rather large screen.

Sony Ericsson Jumping on the NFC Train
NXP, the company that manufactured the NFC chip found in the Nexus S, has just announced their latest partner: Sony Ericsson. It’s surprising to me that SE didn’t announce this on their own, but that’s another story for another day. The big news here is that good ol’ Sony Ericsson has beaten several of the major manufacturers by using NFC chips in future Android devices.

Essentially, it will enable developers to build apps for the Android Market without the need for learning Java or dealing with the complicated Android SDK. HAC brings the ability to create apps screen-by-screen, much like Google’s App Inventor. It’s mostly aimed at beginner developers.
