Yesterday was a big day for our favorite search giant, at least for it’s investors and people concerned with the financial growth of the company. Google conducted it’s Q2 earnings call to report in about the growth of several of it’s products. Two of the big winners? Android and Google+.

Localicious Proving That Some devs Experiencing Less Friction With Android
There is interesting news this morning concerning the new app that WhitePages has released, called Localicious. The app in itself is not ground shattering for sure, but what is interesting is that the company is launching on Android first, with no release date for an iOS launch. A first for the company as a whole, as they have done what most companies out there have been doing. Launch on iOS, then port over to Android. Not this time! Read on for their reasons.

Why are you Surprised about the Netflix Rate Hike?
There has been a tsunami of hate that has been flowing towards Netflix with their announcement that they will be raising their fees on rate plans that include both streaming and DVD’s in the mail. In essence, Netflix has doubled their fees if you want to both stream and receive DVD’s as well.
I have read post after post, comment after comment blasting Netflix about this decision. People saying that they are leaving the service, that they have had enough and taking their money elsewhere. (Where might I ask?) I have seen people say that Netflix’s timing is bad because the economy is struggling.
My response? You are all insane to think that this was not coming.
