I think I may be hallucinating, or at least seeing double, as there is more news about another handset getting a promised upgrade on time, well, sort of on time. News is being reported that the Moto Atrix on the AT&T network is going to get it’s production build of gingerbread.
We need your feedback on this one! Android Central is reporting that some of their readers that pre-ordered the new hotness that is the EVO 3D have been receiving them in the mail!

These ladies are smiling for a very good reason, and yes it has to do with the awesome tech toys they have in their hands from Samsung.
Some good news for those of you who have been either waiting to buy a XOOM, or be able to trade your current device in to get the 4G upgrade from Verizon. Droid Life is reporting that they were given the image pictured to the left, talking about the LTE version of the XOOM being put into the Verizon listing system. Which, according to the article, is a good sign that a LTE XOOM is readying for a release date!
We had an interesting press release come across our desks today, concerning the company Pinger and it’s Textfree app for Android. The gist of the press release was how fast it took the number of Android users to gain parity with the number of iOS users using Textfree on Apple devices. We first talked about the lawsuit between Google and Oracle a while back, to refresh your memory, Oracle after acquiring Sun Micro filed suit against Google saying that the search giant infringed on their Java property a total of seven times. Back in Android’s beginning, Google decided to write their own Java machine, Dalvik to avoid licensing fees. Indeed one of the reasons that Oracle bought Sun Micro was that they could bleed Google of some large amounts, as stated by past Sun employees who were part of the process of sale to Oracle. Now the latest salvo in the ongoing court case has been fired at Google. The target? 50% of their ad revenues on the Android mobile platform.
Recently, good friends of Android Guys, Chris Soyars and Martin B. (chrissoyars and optedoblivion) released a handy app called Drop Snap. The app automatically uploads images taken on your Android phone to your dropbox account with no muss and no fuss. Take a picture and BAM, your photo uploads for safe keeping. Kind of like an eyefi for your Android device.
