LG aims to deliver Optimus Vu in U.S. this quarter

LG plans to bring their 5-inch Android-powered smartphone, the Optimus Vu, to the United States later this quarter.  Speaking today a press release which touts the international success of the device, LG indicated that an American carrier would soon be offering the handset.  You’ll have to do the Google Translate yourself to see the entire post, but it references a third quarter debut for the Optimus Vu.

With a 4:3 aspect ratio, the LG Optimus Vu is a more than powerful device on paper.  Specs like the 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm S4 processor, 1GB RAM, 8-megapixel camera, and 32GB internal storage are no slouch in the Android space. Powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the smartphone is closest compared to the Samsung Galaxy Note.  As to how things look once the Galaxy Note successor is announced, however, remains to be seen.

Which carrier would you like to see pick up the Optimus Vu?  Signs, at this point, indicate that Verizon would be in line to offer the handset but that’s just unofficial chatter.  Would you consider the 5-inch handset for yourself?
