WhitePages, has announced the launch of their new free Android app that provides features such as people and business search, GPS integration, reverse phone lookup and more. This title adds to the rolling snowball that is WhitePages’ Caller ID, which is now one of Android’s top grossing apps.
The new WhitePages’ app includes a free, seven-day trial of Caller ID after which users can purchase for six months of service for $6.99. WhitePages expects its new free Android app will appeal to even more consumers who want to easily find and connect with people and nearby businesses anywhere and everywhere they go.
“Following the successful launch of our premium Caller ID application earlier this year, we have remained steadfastly focused on the wants and needs of our growing Android customer base,” said Kevin Nakao, vice president of mobile and monetization. “With the introduction of the new free WhitePages Android app, customers will now have access to the fastest and easiest way to look up the most comprehensive contact information via a mobile device.â€
The original WhitePages’ mobile apps have crossed over two million mobile users through iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, and other offerings. In a good sign for Android, WhitePages saw better than expected conversion rates (13% -15%) from the earlier free trial Caller ID application to the premium version. They are expecting even better numbers out of the new release.
The new WhitePages app can be downloaded via the Android Market store. If you’re an existing Caller ID user, you’ll get the upgrade at no charge.
