Digital Daily tells us that throughout 2010, the Chinese mobile market was led by Symbian and Windows Mobile, but it seems that has changed, and looking into 2011, Android has secured a huge spot in their market.
I cannot say that I am very surprised, but there is an interesting article over at electronista.com talking about a retailer in the UK that is reporting that Android devices are out pacing the new Windows Mobile device 15 to 1.
Now to be up front, the report from the retailer is an isolated one, is not a nation wide analysis, but it is an indicator to go along with other indicators that paint a picture that perhaps the new Windows OS is not doing very well.
Today sees yet another report showing Android’s tremendous growth around the world. Research firm Canalys is reporting that our favorite mobile operating system is up a whopping 1,309 percent year-over-year in the third quarter.
So you were wondering, like we were, what exactly T-Mobile had in store for June 19th. Was it going to be the arrival of the Nexus One? Was Android 2.2 going to roll out to the myTouch 3G Slide? Would it be Android-related at all? …
Analysts are starting to make some pretty bold forecasts for our favorite mobile OS. Android is now in a good position to become a top-tier player in smartphones over the next two to three years. – Neil Mawston, Strategy Analytics.
As developers have been noticing, getting noticed is hard. Just because you build an app and put it in the Android Market, the world will not beat a path to your door. Read another brainstorm on how to combat this issue in today’s episode of Building ‘Droids!
