U.S. Cellular’s Android roster grows by one tomorrow as they roll out the Samsung Gem. Starting April 1st, customers can pick up the Android 2.2-powered handset for only $29.99 after an $80 mail-in rebate. Hardware includes a 3.2-inch touch screen with advanced anti-scratch, a 3.2-megapixel camera, 4GM microSD card, and 1500mAh battery.
As expected, T-Mobile expands their Android roster today with the Galaxy S 4G. The obvious successor to the Vibrant, it features nearly identical hardware. While it won’t sway many current Android owners, it should attract those looking to leave behind a feature phone.
For the second time in a week, we’ve learned of a forthcoming MetroPCS handset from Samsung with LTE capabilities. This model, the Forte, is said to run Android 2.2 and feature a 1GHZ Hummingbird processor, a 5-megapixel camera, and a sliding QWERTY keyboard.
A sexy, sleek new Android device from Verizon Wireless brings a little twist to makes it stand out on its own. While it sports the Galaxy S logo many are familiar with, the Continuum separates itself with a few distinctions. The smaller 3.4″ Super AMOLED screen really is a beauty, just like all the other Galaxy S devices. The 1.8″ ticker display is the first thing to stand out & separate the Continuum from the rest of the pack. Aside from a few dislikes, the albeit gimmicky device should land in the hands of many Verizon Wireless customers. Best suited for those with smaller hands that find a typical 4.3″ display to be too large, but don’t want to sacrifice the speed of the ultra fast Hummingbird CPU.
BOOM! You didn’t think Samsung was gonna ride that Galaxy S train forever, did you? Looking beyond the Nexus S (yes, already), we have Samsung’s next big thing in our cross hairs.
Poor Best Buy, they just can’t catch a break today. Three leaks in a day all surrounding one device? Ouch. This time around, we’re seeing photographic proof that the retailer is expecting to display the Nexus S on Sunday, November 14th. Thanks to an AndroidPolice tipster we can see that Best Buy plans to promote the device with something this weekend with a live device coming “someday”.
Samsung just took to twitter to announce the dual-screen Continuum handset ahead of their press event scheduled for later this evening. We’re only a few hours away from the official debut of the phone, but we know it’s landing on Verizon on November 11th.
Two new Samsung devices in one day! It was just over a month ago when we saw the year-end roadmap for Verizon come to light. Among the unknown/unseen handsets teased was a Samsung i400 “Continuum” which was said to be a mid-range phone. Flash forward to today and we see that we’re looking at another Galaxy S class phone. This time, there’s a twist.
