Chalk this one up in the “Why in the world?” column. Samsung has announced a $1000 version of their Galaxy Tab device at the latest “Millionaire Fair” in Amsterdam. For $1000, you would expect that you would be getting some special, limited feature that the other versions of the Tab don’t have. In reality, the kit that you get is a bluetooth handset, and a leather sleeve. That’s it. That’s all. Nothing else spectacular, special or “must-have”.
Color us impressed. The Korea Herald is reporting that Samsung has released it’s sales figures for the newly released Galaxy Tab, and they are impressive. 600, 000 units have been sold worldwide, with supply in most areas not keeping up with demand.
Is Samsung already working on a Tab 2, well of course they are. The truth is these things aren’t made over night, they take a lot of time to develop.
Samsung’s Galaxy Tab will be THE device this christmas. Available on each of the four carriers, plus a WiFi version due out “soon”. If you are looking to get one for yourself and someone else, you should consider making sure you can get your hands on one early.
