Get This Look: Gaurav Seth

We’re huge fans of changing the home screen around a bit and creating a new user experience for our Android. So much so that we present this weekly series of Get This Look posts.

In a nutshell we show you a new look for your Android handset and tell you which apps you’ll need if you want to mimic the feel. Some of these are a little easier to create than others and many of them can be tweaked to no end. The following details are but the ingredients to which you can create your own delicious Android dish; your results will vary. Which is awesome!

If nothing else, this is a great way to discover new apps, widgets, icons, and more!

Easy to install and easy on the eyes, this one speaks more to tablet users than smartphones. Designed for a Nexus 7, Gaurav Seth’s layout brings out our inner child without embarrassing us. In other words, it’s okay if our friends pick up a tablet and see it. The standard functionality is present; icons are available for common apps and Google search is front and center. The icon pack already has more than 750 apps and games so we’re pretty sure whatever you place on the home screen will work. As an added bonus, you’ll receive 17 hand-crafted wallpapers that mimic the look and feel.

As for the widgets, we simply love them…all twelve of them. You can rearrange them in just about any order and they even work with other designs you might be working up.

Perhaps what we love most is that you don’t need to mess with any custom launcher settings. Simply take the one you’ve installed and change the icons!

The apps used in this design can be used to create some other fantastic layouts, some of which can be found in other Get This Look features.
