One of our absolute favorite things about Android is the fact that you can bend and tweak the platform to your needs. We simply love that we can change the home screen around a bit and create a new user experience. To that end, we present our weekly series of Get This Look posts.
In a nutshell we will show you a new look for your Android handset and tell you which apps you’ll need if you want to mimic the feel.
Note that the following details are but the ingredients to which you can create your own delicious Android dish – results will vary. But that’s awesome. In fact, many of the designs we highlight tend to use the same apps.

WHY WE LOVE THIS LOOK:
Try as we might, we cannot get enough of these clean elegant designs. Maybe it’s the fact that it looks like Google apps or some semi-official UI. Maybe it’s the icon selection. Maybe it’s the way in which space, color, and fonts are used together. Whatever it is, we’re head over heels for it.
We like that the two rows of icons can be swapped out for other apps and shortcuts and would like to play around with other options.
Up top, the header image, or wallpaper, is a great splash of color. Speaking of which, look how nicely those notifications sit in the upper third. Sharp stuff that looks much like something out of Google+.
There is a step-by-step set of instructions, wallpaper, icons, and other details that can be downloaded in convenient .zip file. Note that it’s a bit of a departure from some of the other Get This Look designs we’ve highlighted but we think it’s worth the effort. Also, the layout has only been tested on the Nexus 4 as of now and that the wallpaper might need a tweak.
