The picture for the upcoming LG Optimus G2 gets clearer by the week – assuming you consider every rumor you read to be gospel. Nevertheless we do get the occasional tidbit that sounds worth passing along. Such is the case today as we have a fresh batch of details to share.

Reportedly, the LG Optimus G2 will employ a 5.2-inch 1080p HD display and a rear 13-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization (OIS). Found in other top smartphones, the technology helps to provide a more fluid and natural video experience.

Keeping things nice and compact, the Optimus G2 is rumored to have moved the buttons to the rear of the device. By doing so the phone will have less wasted and unused space around the display. The backside is purported to play host to volume rockers and the power button.

Other specifications we might expect for the Optimus G2 include a Snapdragon 800 processor (quad-core), 2GB RAM, and the standard fare of flagship hardware.

LG has an event slated for August 7 in New York where it is expected we see the official unveiling of the next-generation Optimus G smartphone. Rumors have been circulating for this device for quite a long time; we’re ready to put it to bed.
