Amazon Announces ‘Digital Bonus’ to Entice Android Device Purchases

Amazon has announced a new initiative today to help attract customers looking to buy Android handsets or tablets.  Called the Digital Bonus, it’s Amazon’s way of thanking buyers with content that better helps them take advantage of the new hardware.  How does it work?  Simple.  Buy a phone or tablet through AmazonWireless and get $15 in credits, which are broken down across Amazon’s other services.  Customers get $5 towards Amazon Appstore, $5 towards Kindle, and $ in Amazon MP3.  AmazonWireless already offers a great deal in their webstore in offering rebate-free shopping and FREE two-day shipping.

Here’s a little fine print that we feel compelled to share:

  1. You must purchase a qualifying Android phone or tablet through before midnight (PST) October 11, 2011.
  2. Buying through the standard website does not qualify.
  3. Digital Bonus feature is only available to customers in the U.S.
  4. Your $5 credits expire on November 12, 2011 at 11:59 PM Pacific time.

Wouldn’t it be awesome if Amazon introduced their own tablets and tossed in even more towards their services?  It’s not all that tough to imagine, is it?
