The popular smartphone duo of this year has finally been receiving the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 OTA. Just as we reported earlier that Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge will start receiving Android Lollipop 5.1 in June. The update is currently being rolling out to T-Mobile’s users in US. The update brings along some performance improvements and couple of new features.
The update brings along simplified exposure in the camera, wallpaper parallax effect and several minor tweaks. The Guest Mode is also included in the update, which as the name suggests allows you to switch over Guest profile preventing your personal data. This feature is handy if you are handing your device to someone else. The update also includes numerous UI changes, like the option to remove the S-finder and Quick connect buttons from the notifications shade.
Although, Google’s Lollipop 5.1.1 update has been around for a while now, but the manufacturers are adopting it very slow. The “Memory leak” Â issue that were present in the Android 5.0 claims to be fixed by Google in Android 5.1. The latest build also fixed the heads-up notification issue. Now you can just swipe up on the heads-up rather than dismissing it by swiping it to right, this way the notification will remain in your notification panel.
The build date of firmware is June 11 and have 635MB size. If you have not received the update yet and do not want to wait for the official update, grab the firmware from source link down below and use Odin tool to flash it. Keep in mind that the firmware source is only for T-Mobile’s Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6
