Since Android Lollipop was announced, many users have been waiting to hear when their manufacturers are going to release the next version of Android for their devices. Companies like Samsung and LG have been mostly quiet about it, while companies like Motorola and HTC have done what they can to communicate how quickly that Lollipop goodness will come. HTC One M8 users have the benefit of knowing the update will come within 90 days of the release of Lollipop with HTC Advantage, but it seems it may be even quicker than that.

Screenshots have been leaked of Android Lollipop 5.0 running on a HTC One M8, and surprisingly most things have remained stock. Mind you, this is a leak, so who knows how much of this will change by the time it’s released.

Notifications seem to have had the biggest effect, taking cues from stock Android. It seems you’re also able to have lock screen notifications, as seen below.

Quick settings have also been changed to be very similar to Android Lollipop, albeit with HTC Sense settings such as Battery Saver mode.

H5

Multitasking has changed from the flat preview style of HTC Sense to the new card interface of Lollipop, which looks much better.

H6

Settings now have a search function, allowing users to find settings much easier.

Something that is entirely new is this “Easy Mode” which essentially replaces the highly customize-able home screen with a simple, 6 button interface. This is likely for the elderly who just need something simple.

That’s all of the screenshots, but we’ll keep you posted if we hear any other news on Lollipop on the HTC One M8.
