Android One sets out to offer the most recent and powerful software experience at a low-end price point, and according to sources the program could be set to launch in India as soon as September.

The first Android One device is set to get a 5-Megapixel camera, 1700mAh battery, 1GB of RAM, and a Snapdragon 400 processor, or thereabouts.

The aim of Android One is to try and entice the emerging markets to Google’s Android platform and also onto smartphones, so they will likely be sold at around the $115 to $165 price point.

What’s more is that Android One devices have been said to get an upgrade from KitKat to Android L in October which means the next version of Google’s Operating System, which at this current time looks likely to be called Lemon Meringue Pie, is scheduled for release in September.
