It’s time for the AndroidGuys Weekly RoundUp! We covered a good bit of news last week, so let’s jump right into it. First off, devices:

  • The HTC Evo Shift 4G finally got rooted, permanently
  • The Nexus S got an OTA to fix that pesky reboot issue
  • We learned that the HTC Thunderbolt is expected to drop on February 24th
  • The Droid X2 is rumored to have a Tegra 2 dual-core processor
  • We saw a Moto Atrix 4G promo video
  • We heard that Samsung will manufacture the Sidekick 4G, followed by some pictures
  • The Moto Xoom was compared to the iPad, like it’s really a competition
  • We got a peek at an unknown HTC device in the wild.. in Taipei
  • Leaked MWC plans confirmed the Galaxy S2 and Tab2
  • We got our eyes on a possible Droid Incredible successor

  • LG more or less confirmed that they’ll be going 3D at MWC
  • The HTC Flyer specs leaked and were confirmed
  • Tmobile dropped the price of the Galaxy Tab to $249.99 with a new 2-year contract
  • The prices for the HTC Thunderbolt and the Moto Xoom leaked, followed by Motorola hyping the Xoom in a video
  • We also learned from Moto that the Xoom will run stock Honeycomb, no Blur
  • It came to our attention that the Samsung SCH-R910 and the Samsung Forte are the same device

  • Facebook denied any rumors that they’re working with HTC on a phone
  • The Motorola Atrix 4G cleared the good ol’ FCC
  • And finally, the N1 and Nexus S got minor updates, presumably to fix the SMS bug

Now that we’ve burned through all the devices, the really big news that broke last week was that Google released the SDK for Honeycomb! Surely it won’t be long before someone gets 3.0 running on something. We saw that the SDK has hints of smartphone support in it as well. In other news, JuiceDefender got a pretty big update, our own Phil Esposito did a video review of ROM Manager, we got an exclusive first hands-on with BioLock, and some NASA apps made it to the Android Market. Also in the news, number porting came to Google Voice, we saw a Tegra roadmap, Google launched a weather web app, Buzztime released a game app, and the Facebook app got an update.

Rounding up the week, LevelUp Studio updated their Beautiful Widgets app with a skin SDK, Playstation announced a cross-platform gaming platform, a Hulu rep spoke about Google TV, our own Damien Raine reviewed Keypurr Keyboard, and Google scheduled an Android event for February 2nd.

That’s about all the news we have time for, so join me next week as I cover all the news reported by our awesome AG crew!
