ASUS Transformer Prime launching next week?

After the announcement of Ice Cream Sandwich, we saw the first ever smartphone running the OS and then later, ASUS revealed the first Android 4.0 powered tablet, the ASUS Transformer Prime, which is also the world’s first Tegra 3 powered tablet. ASUS didn’t gave any final words on when the device would hit shelves but rumor has it that they will launch it next week on December 8th. Famous US online retailer NewEgg is planning to launch it on Dec. 8, which coincides with the rumored launch of the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon. The tablet is already available for pre-order over at ASUS via different retailers, and it’s already out of stock over at NewEgg, which means a lot of people are interested in getting the Prime.

You may already be familiar with the ASUS Transformer, which is considered as one of the best Android tablets in market. The Prime is coming as the successor to it, and it will be featuring a Tegra 3 Quad-Core processor, 10.1 inch display, 1GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera with 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chatting, and is available for $499 (32GB) and $599 (64GB). I think it’s a fair price, at least for a quad-core powered tablet. Who’s looking forward to ordering this tablet or have you already done so? Tell us about it in the comment box below.
