And there you have it.  AT&T has officially announced the 10-inch HTC Jetstream, a $700 Honeycomb-powered tablet.  And yes, that’s with a two-year agreement.  While it seems like an awful lot of money to come up with these times of economic uncertainty, there’s a lot of great ‘firsts’ in the tablet.  It’s the first tablet to support AT&T’s 4G LTE/HSPA+ network, the first 10.1-inch tablet from HTC, and the first time AT&T will offer discounts based on a new data plan.  Who are we kidding here, this thing is downright expensive.  On a positive note, the HTC Scribe digital pen will be free for a limited time, saving consumers from shelling out another $80 in accessories. Â
Specifications fall right in line with longtime rumors, including a Snapdragon 1.5 GHz dual core processor, Android 3.1 Honeycomb (with HTC Senseâ„¢ UX for tablets), 8-megapixel camera with Dual LED Flash, and 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera.  Internal storage is not listed on the press release but there’s microSD card expansion to add up to 32GB on top of whatever it is.
Customers will have multiple data plans to choose from come September 4th, including both pre and post-paid flavors. What’s more, the carrier is introducing a new $35/month 3G data bucket for a discounted tablet just as long as one is willing to sign a 2-year agreement.
- Postpaid: $14.99 for 250 MB or $25 for 2 GB. Customers on the 2 GB plan who exceed their monthly data allotment will be charged $10 per 1 GB of overage. Charges will appear on customers’ monthly wireless statements.
- Prepaid: $14.99 for 250 MB or $25 for 2 GB. Customers on the 2 GB plan who exceed their monthly data allotment may choose to purchase an additional 2 GB for $25. Charges will appear on customers’ credit card statements.

Trying to force me to convert to an IPAD…”I am just saying”

Now it’s,
1. On ATT which Is Why I never got an Iphone
2. It’s $200 more than I bought a 64G iPad for, Without a Contract!, WTF?
Wow! This the super Tablet in the market. I love it!
Say how much now????
let me know when the firesale for this one happens
Even though the HTC Jetstream is really expensive, their
phones have been know to have great build quality and reliability, so this is
an option as my next tablet. It comes with a dual-core processor, and 4G, so
you know it’s fast. I am a huge movie streamer, and I think the Jetstream would
do great if I got one. I use the DISH Remote Access app for all my streaming
needs. I love this app because it lets me stream live TV and recorded shows
from my 922 SlingLoaded receiver to my phone anywhere I am in crystal clear HD!
Whether I am on my way to school, or in another country, I can watch any
channel I subscribe to. As a customer and employee of DISH Network, I have been
using the app for a long time on my HTC Thunderbolt, and I know it will work
wonders on the Jetstream!

Call me when they actually figure out how to price it and offer a Wi-Fi only version that I can justify buying. I love HTC and will probably stick with them, but not until they lower the price and I refuse to get a plan through AT&T…… ever!
