Travelers rejoice! AT&T is joining the growing trend of carriers letting you use your service across the border. Starting on Friday, May 20 those of you who have Mobile Share Value plans with 15 GB of data and above will be able to use your unlimited calling, texting and plan data in Mexico.
The good news doesn’t end there. New and existing customers alike on AT&T’s new Unlimited Plan will have full use of talk, text, and data by adding AT&T’s Mobile Roam North America feature to their phones. You can set that up on AT&T’s website, the mobile app, or giving customer service a call.
AT&T points out that due to its roaming agreements, it already cover about 50 million people in 42 cities across Mexico with LTE. That number will grow over the next few years and it is expected to be at almost 100 million in 2018.
It’s great to see AT&T jump on this bandwagon. T-Mobile has been making waves in the wireless industry by making moves like this. AT&T has to keep up and the customer is the one that ultimately wins.
Not sure what you mean by them joining this bandwagon, they’re the first US carrier to allow you to do this. Great news regardless
T-Mobile has had its mobile without borders program in existence long before this.
