Barnes and Noble have certainly gotten on board the Android gravy train, with both their app and their reader device that is Android powered.  Recently, B and N updated their Nook app for Android.  A quote from their press release about the update:

Barnes & Noble has updated its popular, free NOOK for Android app adding in many requested features from customers to further enhance the reading experience. In version 2.5, customers using Android smartphones and 7-inch tablets will enjoy a new library grid view, wish list feature and download progress meter, along with other improvements.

You can download the updated app right now from the Market. What is interesting is that Barnes and Noble made some promises in the same press release concerning Honeycomb powered devices, here is the quote:

And this spring, Barnes & Noble plans to release a new version of NOOK for Android that will offer enhanced graphics, grid views and more, optimized for those shopping or reading on larger 10-inch Honeycomb-based tablets, such as upcoming products from Motorola, Samsung, Toshiba and others.

It is great to see major retailers getting behind Honeycomb, and recognizing it as a the game changer that it is being predicted to be. We will be waiting to see what kind of reading experience Barnes and Noble brings to devices like the Xoom!
