keyboard_01We have to be getting close to dropping the full Android 1.5 SDK on developers.  It’s either that or we’re going to see the platform updated soon.

The Android Developers blog was updated late last night with an article from Dianne Hackborne.  This time around, the topic is On-Screen Input Methods, more specifically, soft keyboards.  As usual, the article is written for developers looking to implement some Google assistance with their apps.

The Android IMF is designed to support a variety of IMEs, including soft keyboard, hand-writing recognizers, and hard keyboard translators. Our focus, however, will be on soft keyboards, since this is the kind of input method that is currently part of the platform.

Hmmm… Hand-writing recognizers?  Sounds like official stylus support within Android might be coming.
