Just like the previous two years Droidcon, one of the leading international congresses for Android development, is coming to Amsterdam again in less than three weeks. This year’s edition features an impressive speakers list from all around the world and lasts three instead of two days. We will of course be attending Droidcon this year and we’re planning on covering it better than we have in the past. Expect interviews, recaps on presentations and a summary of all the awesomeness you missed.

But why would you not attend Droidcon if you live closeby or are willing to travel to Amsterdam? If money is an argument, well, we have a solution for that. As a mediapartner, the lovely fellows at Droidcon have given us a coupon code for you to use. Simply go the Droidcon site and enter Androidguys as a code to get 25% off your ticket. Also, let us know if you’re attending because we’d love to meet up with our readers! If you have any special requests for interviews or questions regarding Android development that you’d like to have answered, be sure to let us know in the comment section below.

This year’s edition of Droidcon includes a one-day hackaton on Sunday November 24th, during which developers will have a chance to prove their coding skills to a jury by designing and coding an Android app which will be judged by said jury. The entrée fee is €25 per person to cover some basic costs. Either sign up as a solo developer or with a complete team: the choice is up to you.

November 25th and 26th are filled with interesting presentations by gifted developers. Here’s a hint of the list of topics that will be discussed:

  • Android security threats
  • Chromecast with without Chromecast: Cheapcast
  • How to control electronic devices with Arduino & Android
  • Mobile advertising
  • Doing the open source thingy

Of course this is only a taste of the whole package so if you’re interested we highly suggest you check out Droidcon.nl/speakers for the full list of speakers and their respective topics. After a day of soaking up information, there’s a chance to relax and get to know the other attendees at the barbecue. If you’re familiar with the Android BBQ you know exactly what’s coming.

Also, the company behind Droidcon, Holland9 has been acquired by Troido. As far as we know, this will not influence the organization of future Droidcon event in any bad way, quite to the contrary even.

So what are you waiting for? Go and get your tickets today at Droidcon.nl
