Keep Your Fingers Warm While Caressing Your Nexus S


If, like me, you live somewhere where winter really means winter, you know that being outside this time of your you have to choose between cold hands and not using your phone: capacitive touchscreens require something conductive, like your flesh (or perhaps a sausage) to work.  But, magically, if you have a Nexus S, you can keep your fingers snug in their gloves and the touchscreen will still work just fine.

Not listed anywhere in the Nexus S features, an Android Community staffer stumbled on this easter egg while “playing around at 2 o’clock in the morning.” Most other devices showed no response at all to a gloved hand’s touch, and a couple seemed to work intermittently. But the Nexus S performed like a champ.
