There are plenty of keyboard options available on the Play Store. From Swype and Swiftkey, to Google’s own keyboard, however there’s only a limited amount of customizing that can be done. Usually we are just stuck using the built-in themes, and anything that may be added to the “Theme Store” later on.

Fleksy released an update today bringing more customization to your fingertips, than ever before. Now, instead of being stuck with just the built-in themes, and anything that gets released with an update, you can customize the look of the Fleksy Keyboard all the way through.

Fleksy Customization

Within the Fleksy Dashboard, you can head into the Theme Builder, and start creating your own theme that fits your style and personality. The background image can be chosen, meaning that you can find a picture that you love, and use that as your background picture for your keyboard. Then you can choose the colors of the keys, the color of the “key pop”, autocorrected word, and suggestion words.

Fleksy Customization 2

Fleksy really is allowing everything to be customized within the Theme Builder. This may not matter to some, but for those of us who love to customize, this is a great addition. Being stuck with the stock themes can be annoying, because you may like a color scheme, but want to tinker with just a few things, and now you can.

Fleksy burst onto the scene back in 2013, and has become an extremely popular option in the Android world. Eventually, Fleksy took its talents to iOS, although there is still more functionality built in to the Android version. And for a fun little tidbit, back in 2014, the world texting speed record was broken by a teenager using Fleksy.

Fleksy does take some getting used to, due to the various gestures and lack of swipe-texting, but once you’ve got it under control, everything becomes second nature. Fleksy is a great option for anyone looking to try out some new keyboards, and this Theme Builder just adds to how awesome Fleksy is.
