Fring Announces 4-Way Group Video Calling For Free

You gotta love the little war playing out between chat and video services such as Skype, Qik, and fring. Why? Because, in the end, we consumers win. Each company fights for an edge and looks for ways to differentiate from others. Such is the case today as fring rolls out 4-way video chat for Android and iPhone users. Announced earlier today, fring now lets users call each other across Wi-Fi or 3G/4G networks with up to four participants. This comes as the next step for the company as they already allow free cross-platform two-way calls and video calls as well as chat. If you have fring on your phone then you should have received an update notification by the time you read this article.

“fring leap-frogs sluggish, expensive PC Group Video Calling solutions by giving users the world’s 1st mobile Group Video service, free. There is no reason why users need to run home to their PC in order to have a ‘spontaneous’ video call with their friends and family. Users love seeing all their friends at the same time, on one screen, but want to be able to do it, when and where they want,” said Avi Shechter, Co-Founder & CEO of fring

Download fring from the Android Market for free on any 1.5 or higher device. Be sure you have a front-facing camera or your video chat experience won’t be very good!
