One of the frustrations with stock Android is the lack of a battery percentage for the icon in the status bar, with the most common option to download a third-party app for a widget on the homescreen.

There is, however, a new app that will allow you to display the battery percentage with this app, and the best bit is you don’t require root access.

The text is white and the battery background is white as well. The developer says that it is impossible to change the text colour because the white colour is hard coded in the SystemUI.apk file, so you’ll only start to see the percentage when the battery is low enough, which is really when it matters most.
