I don’t know about you, but this year has gone by so very fast. We’re already in December which means in a few weeks we’ll be celebrating New Year’s Eve. In anticipation of the end of 2016, Google though you might want to know which apps, games, TVs shows or films were most loved by users this year.

So the search giant has released its list of top trending content that was released in the Google Play Store over the past 12 months.

The Top Trending Apps category was dominated by Face Charger 2 – an app for selfie lovers who allows users to swap faces between friends and favorite characters, add face parts, morph heads and a lot more. It’s quite reminiscent of what Snapchat offers in term of face changing capabilities, but adds a few extra features.

The top position in Trending games went to Pokémon GO – something to be expected given all the fuss created around this mobile game. Recently the app has been updated with a new tracker, now available for users playing across US and parts of Europe.

Google also goes cultural, reveling the top 5 movies and books which have been downloaded the most by Google Play users.
