Google Wave Being Released to Beta Testers Tomorrow

google_wave_logoCNN is reporting that Google is getting ready to release a beta build to 100,000 testers this Wednesday.  Google Wave has been a highly anticipated app from the search giant, and is a program that is reported to have some Android connectivity as well.

What is Google Wave? The following is from the Google Wave site:

“What is a Wave?

A wave is equal parts conversation and document. People can communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.

A wave is shared. Any participant can reply anywhere in the message, edit the content and add participants at any point in the process. Then playback lets anyone rewind the wave to see who said what and when.

A wave is live. With live transmission as you type, participants on a wave can have faster conversations, see edits and interact with extensions in real-time.”

Pretty nifty technology here, add to the fact that perhaps there will be an Android tie in, the power to collaborate on your Android handset in this realtime way is something that should get any tech geek worked up.

You can sign up on the Google Wave site to be considered for the beta, as of writing, they were looking for people who have their domains run through Google apps.  Here’s to hoping the Wave will come to Android!
