If your Android phone is running low on space, Google plans to add a feature where the Google Play store will automatically suggest deleting apps that you don’t use very often.

Nexus phones are especially notorious for not having microSD card slots, so this feature should be helpful for users with 16GB phones. As some Android apps slowly start to get bigger, it will be nice to have your phone suggest deletions. This could also incentivize developers to try minimizing their app sizes.

It’s unknown when this feature will roll out to everyone. AndroidPolice first discovered this uninstall manager in an APK teardown nine months ago.

  1. I wonder if the suggested apps to delete will include their own bloated software that is not being used. My Nexus 4 would be in a lot better shape if I could remove Google Apps that I don’t use.

  2. There’s a lot of pre-installed apps I never use I’d like to uninstall, more so than even apps I just don’t use that often!!!
