Google X, the uber awesome research division of Google, has unveiled a new wristband that is built to help medical professionals keep better track of their patients. What this means is that patients, who normally are not too keen with using a plethora of devices to monitor their health, will only have to use one simple device.

The wristband does not have an official name, as Google does not plan to make this available to average consumers, but it will hopefully be a great future asset to the medical industry. The wristband will be capable of recording copious amounts of data such as pulse, heart rhythm, skin temperature, and light and noise levels. Things that our current smartwatches, with all their fancy sensors and whatnot, can’t do.

[blockquote author=”Google”]Research at Google is unique. Because so much of what we do hasn’t been done before, the lines between research and development are often very blurred. This hybrid approach allows our discoveries to affect the world, both through improving Google products and services, and through the broader advancement of scientific knowledge.[/blockquote]

There is still no word as to when we can expect the wristband to hit the streets, but Google is busy trying to find manufacturers and health professionals to work with. Not a hard task, as Google is a mighty entity and there is sure to be plenty of interest in the wristband. In the meantime, make sure to follow the link below for further information and to marvel at how advances our society is quickly becoming.
