U.S. Cellular customers can now purchase the HTC Flyer for as low as $399.99 when signing up for a 2-year 5GB data plan. They’re also offering the Flyer for $599.99 with a 2-year 200MB plan but that’s kind of a steep price to pay to be locked in for two years. For those interested, the HTC Flyer’s specs are decent and worth a look:
- 7-inch touch-sensitive TFT screen (1024 x 600)
- 1.5GHz processor
- 32GB of internal storage/microSD expandable
- 1GB RAM
- Rear 5MP camera with auto focus and HD recording
- Front-facing 1.3MP camera
The Flyer also sports a tablet-specific Sense UI, Scribe technology, and Android 2.3.4. Also included is the new Amazon storefront app, exclusive for U.S. Cellular customers, to shop Amazon.com and access 850,000 Kindle e-books.
I can’t help but think what would have become of this announcement had Best Buy stuck to their $99 pricing of the HTC Flyer — ouch! Well, there you have it.
