It took all of one day to get an official announcement regarding the HTC Magic. Call it Sapphire, G2, or whatever else you want. It’s real and it’s coming to Vodafone in the spring.
It’s going to be exclusive to the carrier in the UK, Spain, Germany, and France and non-exclusive in Italy. The HTC Magic is a combination effort between HTC and Vodafone, much like what T-Mobile did with the handset maker.
Looking more tablet and less clunky, the initial impressions coming from around the tech and mobile community are very positive. It sports less of a chin than the US counterpart in addition to a redesigned button configuration.

Lol I think you need to check the “initial impressions” link. Positive indeed =p
Don’t know how it can be called a G2, considering that T-Mobile seems to have called dibs on that name…
I would not be surpised to hear an American carrier pick up this device a few months after the initial release on Vodaphone. Besides, I would much rather keep my G1 because I like a physical keyboard.
Of course I can’t wait to have the Cupcake rollout because it’s convenient to have the option of using a soft keyboard!
