Google on Friday began rolling out an Android 5.0.1 software update to the HTC One M7 and HTC One M8 Google Play edition smartphones. This is good news for those who own one of the phones as the last few weeks have seen some false starts and slight delays over the Lollipop update.

Expected to take up to two weeks to fully reach handsets over the air, it can also be manually downloaded and installed. The latter requires users have a little bit of technical savvy; however, that just might be the demographic for the devices. The files are rather sizable, coming in over 500MB a piece.
