Love the idea of playing official Playstation titles on your Android smartphone but don’t want to buy a Sony Ericsson phone? ¬†Maybe you’ve been an HTC fanboy since the days of the T-Mobile G1 and have serious brand loyalty. ¬†Well, good news for you – HTC is rumored to be getting Playstation certification for select models of Android smartphones.

Should the details prove to be legit, we don’t expect to see existing models pick up the certification. Rather, we suppose this would be one of the hot selling point for a new smartphone or tablet. The HTC Endeavor and Quattro, would be our guess as the first devices to offer access to Sony’s game library as both are expected to boast quad-core processors. Of course, the HTC Ville and that new Droid Incredible-like model should have enough power to handle PlayStation One games. Each of those are considerably more beastly than the Xperia Play and those worked just fine.

We’ll be watching the news out of both the Sony and HTC camp over the next few weeks and will be happy to share what we learn!
